Now Available at TCIM: Tirzepatide for Weight Loss

We are excited to announce a new compounded weight loss drug available at Twin Cities Integrative Medicine. You may have heard of the drug called Mounjaro (tirzepatide). Think of it as a cousin to semaglutide, but works on two receptors (GLP-1 and GIP) versus only one receptor with semaglutide (GLP-1). It is currently only FDA approved to treat diabetes, however, it is starting to be used “off label” for weight loss, as some studies have shown greater weight loss with tirzepatide versus semaglutide.

According to the manufacturer Eli Lilly, participants in the most recent study lost 16% of their body weight in 16 months. Tirzepatide is currently pending FDA approval for weight loss. It helps people lose weight by mimicking hormones that lower blood sugar and curb appetite.

We will be adding compounded tirzepatide as an option for our weight loss program in Minneapolis. Please contact Twin Cities Integrative Medicine to learn more about this new weight loss drug.
