Wear Sunscreen
One of the most important steps for keeping your skin healthy and youthful is to wear sunscreen. Even if it’s not sunny or you’re just running some errands, put on some moisturizer with SPF.

Quit Smoking
For numerous health reasons, if you are a smoker now is a good time to quit. Smoking can wreak havoc on skin and cause premature aging.

Be Gentle
It can be tempting to use harsh exfoliators on the skin, especially if you are congested or oily. This can end up stripping too much of the protective barrier of your skin and cause more problems.

Clean Eating
While eating food may not directly cause acne, certain foods can cause spikes in blood sugar. The Western diet in general is also very inflammatory, which can cause skin problems. Eating a healthy diet is good for inflammation and overall health. If you are struggling with acne, try a low glycemic diet and see if that helps.

Self-Examine for Irregularities
Early detection is one of the best defenses against skin cancer. The American Cancer Society has a really helpful guide for how to do a self-exam. If you see anything that looks unusual, be sure to go see a dermatologist.

Stay Hydrated
Keep your skin healthy and glowing by staying hydrated inside and out throughout the day. Electrolyte drinks can also help with skin health.

Beauty Sleep
Getting enough sleep is an important tip for overall health. When you have a bad night’s sleep, you can usually see it on your face. Consistently not getting enough sleep can contribute to premature aging.

Moisturize
Use moisturizer in the morning and at night (with SPF if going out during the day). To stay hydrated overnight, use moisturizer before going to sleep and keep a glass of water next to your bed.

Stress Less
Easier said than done but learning how to de-stress is so important for overall health. Try going for a walk, meditating, yoga, or finding another hobby that helps you relax.
