What’s the difference?
There are some significant differences between drugstore brands and pharmaceutical grade brands. Pharmaceutical grade products have a stronger formula and clinical research backing their products.
If a product claims that it reduces the appearance of wrinkles, a pharmaceutical grade product must have clinical research supporting this claim. Drugstore brands might claim this, but it may or may not be true.
Despite the name, you don’t need a prescription for these types of skincare products. You won’t find them at regular stores, though. Typically, these products can only be purchased at medical spas or directly from the company.
Because the ingredients are stronger than store-bought brands, it’s important to discuss with a skincare professional any possible side effects.
